My career in media production began in 2000 with an interest in creating videos that supported learning and education.

It all started when I left full-time teaching and began working at an independent production company, where I trained as a video editor. This provided me with the opportunity to work on a variety of projects which included programmes for Channel 4 and Discovery.

I then took the opportunity to work on the production of a series of educational multimedia resources. In the role of media producer, I was responsible for leading teams in the production of multimedia content, encompassing DVD, CD-ROM, print and interactive web material, and liaise with designers, developers and suppliers. I also collaborated with research teams and educational consultants in the learning design of these resources.

In the production of video content, I would often work as a director, editor and camera operator. This allowed me to gain a great deal of experience in filming busy classroom environments and educational events, working with various film crews, and editing many, many hours of video footage.

It was these experiences that were the catalyst for me to set up as a freelance video producer and editor, allowing me to continue to be involved the production of videos that support teaching and learning. I have subsequently worked on a variety of government-funded educational projects.

Over the years, my work has moved on to include creating videos that support business innovation. I am also using my experience of event filming to produce wedding videos.
