Over the years Ross has worked with various organisations and individuals across the creative, corporate and education sectors, working primarily as a video editor and videographer.

Creative

Ross began his media career working on the TV series Mountain Bike Britain (Channel 4) as an editing assistant. He went on to work as an assistant editor for a couple of feature-length films before going on to edit a short film, A Tentative Situation at Rugby Road (Infinity Productions), and the documentary Plane Clothed Detective which was broadcast on Discovery Wings.

He has Gone on to edited two seasons of a US series The Designer Within (Cheese and Crackers) and has finished work on another series based in the US called RV Revival (Cheese and Crackers). This is currently in production.

Education

A large part of Ross’s media career has focused on the education sector, working on projects that have supported various aspects of teaching and learning:

• continuing professional development
• training
• educational research
• online learning
• providers in promoting their services to students and the wider community.

As video editor, videographer and, on occasions, director, he has worked on projects for clients including Education and Training Foundation, Mathematics in Education and Industry, The University of Nottingham, Bowland Charitable Trust, Shell Centre for Mathematical Education, University of Newcastle.

Ross also worked for five years as a media producer on The National Teaching and Learning Change Programme (DfE), where he was responsible for overseeing the production of multimedia teaching resources in science, mathematics and engineering. He went on to produce the Maths4Life resource Thinking Through Mathematics (DfE).

Ross is also a qualified teacher of mathematics.

Corporate & SMEs

Ross has filmed, edited and directed videos for various businesses to:

• promote products and services
• communicate company initiatives and updates
• support staff training.

These videos have been produced for websites, events, social media channels and internal comms.

Corporate clients include Unilever Food Solutions, Aramark and SAGA. Ross has also produced social media content for local SMEs, including Ezpresso Ltd and RP Detailing.

Editing Software and Equipment

As an editor, Ross has used various editing and graphics software including Avid, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop. He now uses Final Cut Pro and Apple Motion, and is currently familiarising himself with DaVinci Resolve and the Affinity Suite.

Ross is based in Dorchester, Dorset.
